Here's one comical way to lose a race: forget to run the last lap!
As the commentator says "Ha! He's busy celebrating... He's punching the air, he's celebrating I think... This race is still going on here... This was the most appalling error of judgement... "
What a shame the rider forgot to run the last lap - he was so well prepared for the celebration!
