Here is an advanced autocross course design technique: Using trees for the layout. Saves time on course setup and breakdown, and it cuts down on the number of corner workers needed, as there are fewer cones to shag. Event registration open to tough autocrossers only!

Today we are going onboard the Veloz Media E30 M3 art car for the 90-minute enduro with BMWCCA Club Racing at Mid-Ohio. The video is worth watching to get an idea for what club racing looks like and what the driver etiquette is like out on the track.

This Is Adenau, Where You Went Shopping Today
Very funny video on many levels! Heads-up: worked much better for me with the volume on mute.
"Here's a corner called Flugplataz. The car will jump there."
"Please don't jump. Don't jump."
This is a good line to borrow when you get pulled over and need to explain to the cop why you were driving too fast:
"I'm driving very sensibly."
Hat Tip to Hristo S.

Off to Watkins Glen!
I am off to Watkins Glen for a 3-day driving school with the Genesee Valley Chapter. This is one of my favorite driving events of the year!!
Come check out OneHotLap's booth in garage bay 5. We will have awesome freebies, great driving advise, very funny jokes, and the best part: The Turner Motorsport Girls will be there wearing OneHotLap outfits! OK, I'm kidding about the girls but you know if there is a story about Six Canadian Baby Squirrels Flying Around Watkins Glen in a BMW Coupe's Airbox, any exciting Condom-Vette developments or any new contenders at the Saran Wrap Masters, we will always have the inside scoop and be the first ones to break the news!

Autocross Explained: Standing in a Parking Lot for 10 Hours for the Best 6 Minutes!
Not understanding why anyone would stand in a parking lot for 10 hours with the hope of driving for 6 minutes? Imagine those 6 minutes were as good as 6 minutes with Scarlett Johansson. You would wait 10 hours in a parking lot to spend 6 minutes with her, wouldn't you?

Sending in My Entry to Turner Motorsport's 2013 Calendar Photo Contest
Thought I'd throw in my entry in Turner Motorsport's 2013 Calendar photo contest. It's a bonus that it goes out to "sponsors and thousands of customers and fans" as they say in the above link but hey -- if I'm the only sponsor and fan that ever sees it, that's good enough for me!

OneHotLap Poll: Who Is the Best Driver Anywhere Today?
We were curious to find who is considered the best driver anywhere, in any race series today. So if you were the team owner and wanted to hire the best driver for a new race series without knowing any of its rules, who would it be?
Here's how OneHotLap fans voted:
1. Sebastian Vettel (36%)
It was tossup between Vettel and Loeb. They have squared off a few times in the Race of Champions with both of them winning it.

Alex Zanardi Is a True Hero!
Zanardi was leaving the pits after a quick stop, got on the throttle a bit too aggressively at the end of pit road, spun his car, and crossed into the path of travel of cars on their hot laps. It was just gruesome to watch the accident and frankly, hard to imagine at the time that anyone would survive after his car (including the shell) broke up in two. His legs were severed, he lost 3/4 of his blood and had literally 10 minutes to live in that condition after the accident! It was remarkable that the doctors were able to save him with a rapid intervention!
