How NOT to Bring Your Car Back onto the Pavement

This is a massive crash into a solid concrete wall at high speed. Hopefully the LMP driver Simon Dolan is OK after today's accident at the Silverstone round of ELMS... The accident underscores how important it is to be smooth and patient with bringing the car back in after you go four wheels off the pavement. This is something that the better driving clubs pratice at HPDEs so you can get a feel for the bumpy and unsettling ride and practice not jerking the wheel to get the car back on the track. You'll also want to maintain throttle to keep the car balanced; anything you do has to be designed to avoid fast weight transfers and you have to bring the car very slowly back onto the pavement.
